This project by Lilydale Community House was funded by the Victorian State Government through the Department of Transport via the previous Lilydale Revitalisation Board.
We’re Not Dead Yet sought to highlight the importance of knowing stories from those older members of our community. Most have had amazing lives, hardships, ups and downs, and have displayed enormous resilience and optimism.
We thank the 19 elders from our community who generously told their stories, and gave us an insight into how they grew up, lived, loved and played.
This project produced a series of portraits and have been on exhibition at Hendriks Cafe, 54 John Street Lilydale from 29th July-28th August, 2025.
It will be on display again at Yarra Ranges Council Civic Centre, Anderson St Lilydale from 5th September-6th October 2025.
The project also produced a book of the stories and their portrait.
